Edmonton Highland Dancing Association
Registration 2009-2010
Welcome back to another season of Highland Dancing! Here are a few things we would like to remind you about.
Membership Registration and AHDA Fees:
- We are required by the Alberta Highland Dancing Association (AHDA) to collect $15.00 per dancer in lieu of fundraising activities. Please combine the AHDA fee and the membership in one cheque. The volunteer commitment cheque is separate.
- All cheques should be made payable to the Edmonton Highland Dancing Association.
Volunteer commitment:
- Those members residing outside a 150 km radius of Edmonton are not required to complete the volunteer commitment.
- Every full membership has a responsibility to fulfill the volunteer commitments regardless of the age or level of the dancers.
- Volunteers can be anyone 16 years of age or over. This could be a dancer or a dancer’s parent, sibling or friend.
- The volunteer commitment involves one of the following:
- Two shifts at any EHDA competition over the membership year
- Serve on EHDA executive or committee
- Preferences will be listed on the registration form and will be processed accordingly.
- You must list six options, in order of preference, as noted on the volunteer commitment form. Failure to list six options will result in your commitment being assigned to you without further consultation. You will be responsible for all assigned commitments.
- Every effort will be made to establish competition dates and venues ahead of time, but not all may be in place at the start of the year.
- You must provide one cheque for $150.00. The cheque should be dated June 1, 2009. If you do not show up when scheduled, your cheque will be cashed. Once you have fulfilled your volunteer commitment for 2007-2008 your cheque will be destroyed (they will not be returned).
- You are responsible for locating your own replacement if you are unable to complete your shift, and advising the appropriate volunteer coordinator.
- Volunteer coordinator for this year is yet to be determined
The EHDA General Meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of every month from September to May (excluding December) at 7:30 pm at Landsdowne Community Hall, 12323-51 Avenue.
